♥FASHION Thoughts | Why age-appropriate glamour wins

Why age-appropriate glamour wins

Getting dressed every morning has a slightly different effect than it used to. As a young professional working in New York City, a place where it snows more than I’ve ever seen and reaches temps in the double digits, what I wear matters. Not just for practicality, but because I’m fashion obsessed.

Navigating this city in heels is a sport, trust.

The view that fashion and age have any correlation is not something I’m alluding to, more the point that it is rare to see age-appropriate glamour taken advantage of as often as it could be. In a time where everything is pushed up, cut low and over-done, the power of simple beauty and elegance rules.

Cue shining star Kiernan Shipka in Oscar de la Renta last night at the SAG awards. Her look really struck me, from her makeup and ’60s style hair to the stunning dress. The styling was perfection.

A return to understated elegance should be considered by all of us, whether working girls or stars on the red carpet.
